      Earth to move to level a pad to one height. Uses 30 m terrain, so treat it as a first estimate.

      Draw a path and the profile opens at the bottom of the map.

      Open your own well list and it plots with status symbols. Nothing is built into the site: the list stays in this browser.

      Free flight

      Tours

      Move the map to each view you want and press Add stop. Play flies through them. Tick Save as video to keep a .webm file.

        Makes a PDF of what is on screen, with a title block, scale bar, north arrow, grid coordinates and legend.

        Open

        KML, KMZ (with picture overlays), GPX, GeoJSON, zipped shapefile, CAD drawings (DXF), CSV in any grid, GeoTIFF, geotagged photos, or any picture to pin down by hand. You can also drop files on the map. Files stay on this computer.

        Whole project

        One file with every layer, picture overlay, tour, your logo and the current view. Use it to move your work to another computer or keep a backup. Open it again with Choose files.

        Photoreal 3D (Google)

        Google's 3D city models, where they exist. Needs your own Google Maps Platform key with the Map Tiles API turned on (about 1 000 free visits a month).

        Keys stay in this browser only. An ArcGIS key licenses the Esri pictures for company use (free up to 2 million tiles a month at location.arcgis.com).

        New in version 4.5

        • Location sheet: a one-page PDF for any well from its card: map, coordinates in every grid, ground height, nearest wells, the areas it sits in and how far it is from their edges, and the seismic inline and crossline.
        • Pad and earthworks: from a well card, draw a pad of any size round the well and get its cut and fill from the terrain.
        • Rig moves (Wells panel): joins the wells in drilling order with each move's distance and bearing, and, if you allow it, the road route and driving time.
        • Seismic grid: with a survey grid open, well cards and What is here? give the inline and crossline, and typing IL 262 XL 211 in the search box goes to that trace.
        • Edges: well cards say how far a well is inside or outside each nearby area, such as a contract area.
        • Overview map in the corner, as in Earth Pro (switch it in Settings).
        • Street maps redrawn from OpenFreeMap: sharper, with no yellow.

        New in version 4

        • Wells: open any well list (CSV) and it plots with proper status symbols: producing, shut in, abandoned, planned, dry and injector. Size the symbols by any number (cumulative oil, rate) for a bubble map. Wells on one pad share a label.
        • Well cards: coordinates in Cassini, Naparima and WGS 84, ground height, nearest wells in feet with direction, and which of your areas each well sits in.
        • Cross-section: draw a line and see the ground with every nearby well drawn down to its total depth.
        • Spot a well with a quality check, a spacing check for the whole field, H₂S rings, and a spill path that follows the ground downhill.
        • Map sheets now carry your logo, well status legend and colour keys for picture overlays.
        • Picture overlays stay on after a reload, have colour keys and a show/hide switch, and sit under the wells in 3D.
        • Free flight from the Tours panel.

        New in version 3

        • 3D buildings everywhere: Overture Maps footprints (OpenStreetMap, Microsoft and Google), more than 30 000 in San Fernando alone. Click one for its size and source.
        • Places and businesses from Overture Maps, with phone numbers and websites.

        • Survey: traverse and parcel area from coordinates or bearings and distances, with Bowditch adjustment, precision and a written description; grid to ground factors; setback check against buildings, roads and water; navigate to any point with GPS.

        • Print: grid ticks round the frame in any grid.
        • Sketch freehand, street addresses for any spot, heights over the ground in profiles.
        • Install as an app from Settings, and save areas for use without a signal.

        • Time: the Esri archive filtered to the dates that really changed at this spot, fresh Sentinel-2 pictures every few days (true colour, false colour, NDVI, water, short-wave infrared) and NASA daily pictures. Compare them with swipe, spy lens or side by side, and play them as a timelapse or save it as a video.
        • Terrain: slope, aspect and height tint shading, line of sight, viewshed, cut and fill, and a profile that opens for every path.
        • Imagery date in the status bar: when and by whom the picture under the centre was taken.
        • Right-click anywhere for quick tools.
        • Drawing: rectangles, text labels, lengths and areas written on the map, styles, several layers, attribute tables.
        • Tours: record camera stops, fly through them and save a video.
        • Print: PDF map sheets with title block, scale bar, north arrow, corner grid coordinates and legend.
        • Files: GeoTIFFs, KMZ picture overlays, geotagged photos, and any picture you can pin down by dragging its corners.

        Moving around

        Good to know

        • Tobago Grid has no published datum shift, so its figures are approximate.
        • Heights come from 30 m satellite terrain. Buildings and trees are not in it.
        • Everything you draw is kept in this browser. Save KML files for safe keeping.
